Wat ga je doen?
As a Senior Safety Engineer – Permitting & Environmental (Dutch speaking), you will play a key role in delivering this integrated approach. You will work at the interface of engineering and regulation, helping our client navigate complex permitting landscapes while enabling efficient, compliant, and sustainable project delivery.
- Lead regulatory compliance, permitting and environmental activities across multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Integrate permitting requirements into early design phases (concept, FEED, detailed design) to avoid late-stage risks
- Manage and coordinate Dutch environmental permitting processes, including authority engagement.
Furthermore, you will provide expertise on:
- Environmental regulations and compliance
- Emissions to air, soil, and water
- EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) deliverables
- BAT/BREF and regulatory frameworks
- Act as the key interface between engineering teams, clients, and regulatory authorities
- Identify permitting risks early and implement practical, cost-effective solutions
- Support project delivery by managing scope, schedule, and budgets for your discipline
- Contribute to continuous improvement by applying innovative tools, methods, and digital solutions.
Functie-eisen
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong experience in regulatory compliance, permitting, or Safety Engineering, preferably in the (petro-)chemical or industrial sector
- Solid knowledge of:
- Dutch permitting frameworks (e.g. Omgevingswet, Activiteitenbesluit)
- PGS guidelines and environmental legislation
- EIA processes and environmental assessments
- Experience embedding regulatory requirements into engineering design processes
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary and international teams
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English

Voor loondienstverbanden bij Selectum vormt de ABU CAO en de toepassing van de inlenersbeloning (aan de hand van de arbeidsvoorwaarden van de klant) de basis Voor het pakket dat wij je kunnen bieden. Dit pakket is altijd marktconform.
- Wanneer een specifieke opdracht kan worden uitgevoerd door een ZZP-er, spreken wij een tarief af voor het zelfstandig uitvoeren van deze opdracht bij onze opdrachtgever. Hiervoor moet zowel de klant, de opdracht als de ZZP-er aan verschillende voorwaarden voldoen.
- In een aantal gevallen is onze klant op zoek naar een kandidaat voor de uitbreiding van haar eigen organisatie. In die gevallen wordt de arbeidsovereenkomst aangegaan met onze klant en zo ook de uiteindelijke arbeidsvoorwaarden (rechtstreeks) afgestemd.
