Wat ga je doen?

The Senior Instrumentation & Control Specialist provides first-line asset engineering support to the maintenance delivery teams to ensure effective maintenance and repair activities. Acting as Engineering Authority (EA3), this role offers qualified engineering guidance and endorses engineering changes, maintenance deferrals, ORAs, etc., in accordance with authorisation levels defined in our client’s engineering standards. Key responsibilities include:

Solving plant operations and maintenance issues through cost-effective engineering solutions.
Acting as focal point for performance monitoring and troubleshooting of Control & Instrumentation systems (HMI, SCADA, IACS, PLC, F&G, ESD).
Ensuring technical competence of C&I maintenance personnel.
Budget responsibility for discipline-specific engineering work (OPEX).
Providing optimised preventative maintenance programs and implementing industry best practices.
Participating in operational improvement initiatives and planning processes (28-day and 90-day).
Giving input and endorsement for changes in PMRs within SAP CMMS.
Identifying and endorsing shutdown activities.
Acting as technical representative for asset support contracts.
Liaising with other disciplines, vendors, and manufacturers.
Overseeing vendor mobilisation in line with planning and budget.
Supporting in resolving operational issues, including incident investigations.
Advising on MOCs, maintenance deferrals, and ORAs as per authorisation levels.
Managing equipment performance, spare parts, and warranty processes.
Ensuring adherence to performance standards through Inspection, Test & Maintenance programs.
Promoting safety and communication with site execution teams.

Functie-eisen

Engineering degree or HNC/HND with extensive experience in Control & Instrumentation engineering.
Professionally accredited engineer.
Extensive knowledge of technical engineering practices and relevant legislation in the oil and gas industry.
Considerable experience in engineering and production operations environments.
Good understanding and application of UK Control & Instrumentation regulations.
Familiarity with quality processes and continuous improvement tools is desirable.
Proficient in working with various types of engineering documentation.
Practical experience with SAP PM or other CMMS systems.
Willingness to complete all mandatory (compliance) training required by our client.
Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and foster a team-oriented environment.
Proven experience in managing client/operator relationships and contractors.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining relevant competencies.
A safety- and environmentally-conscious approach in line with corporate policy.
Certifications: BOSIET, MIST, and TUV Functional Safety Engineer or equivalent experience with IEC 61511.
