Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer/Senior Procurement Engineer – Dutch speaking to join one of the projects in the Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will possess extensive procurement expertise, particularly across onshore, offshore, and upstream environments. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in sourcing, contract negotiation, vendor management, and cost control for complex oil and gas projects.
This is a project role, with a long-term duration (1+ year).
Key responsiblities:
- Lead the end-to-end procurement process for capital equipment, materials, and servicesrelated to onshore, offshore, and upstream projects.
- Prepare and manage RFQs, RFPs, Commercial bid evaluations, and purchase orders incompliance with project timelines and budget.
- Follow and implement procurement strategies aligned with project and company objectives.
- Coordinate with project teams, engineering, planning, and logistics to ensure timely deliveryof materials and services.
- Evaluate and select suppliers and subcontractors based on technical, commercial, anddelivery performance.
- Negotiate contracts and frame agreements with key vendors and ensure compliance withterms and conditions.
- Ensure adherence to local and international procurement regulations, industry standards,and company policies.
- Manage expediting activities, monitor supplier performance, and resolve delivery or qualityissues.
- Maintain procurement documentation and support audits or internal reviews.
- Stay updated on market trends, cost fluctuations, and supply chain risks relevant to oil andgas materials and services.
Functie-eisen
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent. Master’s degree is a plus.
- 10-15 years of procurement experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with a focus on onshore, offshore, and upstream oil & gas (FPSOs) projects.
- Fluency in Dutch and English is mandatory and not negotiable
- Strong technical understanding of oilfield equipment, piping, valves, instrumentation, rotating/static equipment, and EPC procurement processes.
- Proven experience in international procurement, vendor development, and contract management.
- Familiar with industry standards (API, ASME, ISO, etc.) and oil & gas supply chain dynamics.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, supported by strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and manage multiple priorities.
- CIPS, PMP, or SCM-related certifications would be an added advantage.

- Wanneer een specifieke opdracht kan worden uitgevoerd door een ZZP-er, spreken wij een tarief af voor het zelfstandig uitvoeren van deze opdracht bij onze opdrachtgever. Hiervoor moet zowel de klant, de opdracht als de ZZP-er aan verschillende voorwaarden voldoen.
- In een aantal gevallen is onze klant op zoek naar een kandidaat voor de uitbreiding van haar eigen organisatie. In die gevallen wordt de arbeidsovereenkomst aangegaan met onze klant en zo ook de uiteindelijke arbeidsvoorwaarden (rechtstreeks) afgestemd.
