Responsible for making sure that plant and machinery has high levels of availability / uptime and operates in a safe manner at all times. Ensure both preventative and corrective maintenance is carried out in a timely manner and complies with both Argent policies / standards and external standards e.g. Engineering and HSE.
Perform all requested engineering duties to include modifications and re-engineering of plant as required. Carry out the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of all plant equipment.
Ensure all members of the maintenance team are working to the appropriate engineering standards including health and safety and are accurately recording the use of time and materials in the Ultimo database.

Operational Responsibilities:

• Prioritize and organize maintenance tasks for the mechanical team to ensure timely completion.
• Plan and schedule maintenance work using a weekly schedule for efficient delivery.
• Participate in team development through performance reviews and appraisals.
• Support the Reliability Engineer in developing a proactive maintenance strategy.
• Manage and update the Ultimo stores system, adhering to procedures.
• Ensure good housekeeping across all site areas, especially in stores/workshop/container areas.
• Coordinate recording of machinery defects, corrective actions, and repairs in shift reports and Ultimo.
• Oversee contractor repairs, organize annual shutdowns, and manage adequate supplies on site.

• Bachelor (HBO) Mechanical Engineering or equivalant;
• Previous supervisory experience preferable;
• Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in a process plant is essential; with a FMCG, Process, recycling and Chemical background;
• Good knowledge of liquids conveying systems and large rotating plant;
• Fault finding and preventative maintenance experience;
• VCA qualified.
