Senior Estimator Den Haag Zuid-Holland

Role Context
Our client is currently seeking a Senior Estimator who will be involved in the preparation of all classes of capital cost estimates, applying recognized methodologies and established practices.
The Senior Estimator will primarily report to the head of the Estimating Department and provide support and mentoring for junior estimators. Located in the Hague office.

You'll Be

• Establishing the key parameters associated with the overall quality and accuracy of the estimate such as: equipment and material pricing guidelines, material take-off and other allowances, escalation philosophy, and site location (labour productivity) factors.
• Establishing the estimating scope of work, preparing estimate methodology, and producing an overall estimate activity schedule identifying all deliverables and interfaces with other disciplines.
• Preparing the Estimate Plan to include the establishment of the estimating methodology and cost estimating principles applicable to the estimate preparation.
• Providing support in identifying, investigating, and providing innovative solutions to cost estimating problems.
• Comparing and examining scope, quantities, and cost data between projects. In comparison with previous estimates, outcome costs, and vendor prices, carrying out benchmark estimates through high-level norms and industry standards.
• Identifying risk items and measures to mitigate risks.
• Preparing cost trend estimates in support of project cost trend programs.
• Preparing Basis of Estimate and compiling all estimate documentation required for internal governance and client presentation/submission.
• Delivering estimate reviews and customer presentations alongside the Project Manager.
• Analyzing subcontractor pricing for accuracy and content.
• Establishing wage rates and productivity factors.
• Supporting with check estimates, trend and change order estimates, and forecasting as required.
• Coordinating and monitoring input from engineering, procurement, and construction to ensure estimate input requirements are met in a timely manner.

• Significant experience in an Estimating Role.
• Commercial awareness and proven success with benchmarking and data analytic skills.
• Knowledge about AACEI estimation practices and guidelines.
• Experience working on projects within the Energy, Chemicals and Resource industry.
• Experience in working on turnaround projects.
• Education: Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline (Engineering preferred).
• IT Skills: Advanced user of Microsoft Office Applications, Working knowledge of Estimating Software such as Cleopatra Enterprise or Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (KBase).
• People Skills: Motivational and collaborative communication skills.
• Budgeting: Control estimating budget on projects.
• Strong organizational planning skills.
• Experience with Estimation on large scale projects.
• Experience with software Cleopatra and K-Base is a must.
• Worked on projects before within the Energy, Chemicals and Resource industry.
• Based in the Netherlands or European borders.
