As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will supervise and manage design and drafting activities for greenfield and brownfield projects. Working independently with minimal supervision, you will coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, construction teams, and third parties. The majority of the work will take place at the client site. The role requires strong practical knowledge of LV and MV electrical installations. You will prepare and develop electrical designs during the Define, Design, and Execute phases of projects, ensuring quality, clarity, and consistency throughout. Deliverables must meet project specifications, procedures, schedules, and budgets. You will set priorities, organize your work, and ensure the achievement of project goals.
Primary Duties
- Demonstrated experience in greenfield and brownfield projects, with the capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Communicate and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and project teams. Coordinate and interface with other disciplines and maintenance teams.
- Take responsibility for project progress and productivity, identifying and implementing corrective actions as needed to meet schedules.
- Identify scope changes and promptly issue change notifications.
- Ensure all drawings maintain consistency, and perform thorough checks to ensure technical accuracy and high-quality standards.
- Attend project meetings as required.
- Prepare sketches and markups to provide input to the drafting team.
- Perform drafting modifications in AutoCAD and E-Plan when necessary.
- Prepare and review design deliverables such as block diagrams, electrical equipment room layouts, cable tray/trench layouts, earthing layouts, typical installation details, etc.
- Develop clash-free designs.
- Review drawings from other disciplines when needed.
- Issue engineering drawings and layouts for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDCs).
- Perform and verify calculations, including cable tray fill calculations, lighting calculations, and trench/duct bank sizing.
- Demonstrate knowledge of single-line diagrams, connection diagrams, and schematics.
- Assist engineers with vendor document reviews, input to Material Take-Offs (MTO), and other design/engineering activities.
- Collaborate with the construction team to address site queries and provide clarifications.
- Verify "As-Built" drawings and issue the As-Built package to the client.
