Project Manager Velsen-Noord Noord-Holland

The Project Management department is responsible for the realisation of multi-disciplinary projects for the international steel industry, a.o. blast furnace revamps, hot blast stoves, converters, sublances, gas cleaning systems.

In this position you will be responsible for one or more projects from data transfer to final acceptance by the client. The most important tasks are:

Manage the project (planning, scope, budget, health & safety), lead the project team;
• Create and maintain project execution plan, provide progress reports and close-out report
• Manage change orders, analyze the consequences for planning, scope and budget, ensure conformity with the client;
• Maintain contact with the client, provide progress reports, taking cultural differences into account.

• Technical education, at least BSc level (with diploma), preferably Mechanical Engineering;
• Thorough project management skills, preferably acquired in the (heavy) process industry;
• Preferably knowledge of the international iron and steel industry;
• Experience, at least 5 years, as project manager of international complex projects, inclusive of construction;
• Wide experience, at least 10 years, in multi-disciplinary engineering and contracting projects;
• Fluently in English, both oral and in writing (and Russian is an advantage);
• Experience in working with different cultures and working abroad under strain;
• Be able to adapt in different working climates (from co-operative to hard negotiation);
• Prepared to travel and work internationally;
