To initiate, prepare and realize technical activities, such that the production process and safety are guaranteed. This role reports into the Offshore Installation Manager and will act as a manager functionally to 10-15 third-party staff.
Main duties & responsibilities
Complying with the applicable legislation and regulations regarding safety, occupational health and safety (Arbo), the environment, the mining act and the procedures and regulations in the operations manual being continuously aware of and attentive to possible health and safety and environmental risks and as such complying strictly with established procedures, rules and regulations in the capacity of controller and supervisor, being attentive to and monitoring the safety of third parties.
Taking stock of and planning construction activities in consultation with the production management;
taking stock of the technical activities to be carried out within a given period, on the basis of project plans drawn up at the base, requests for support, own observations / registration and inspection reports;
planning tasks in consultation with the production management, with consideration for progress and the need to minimise disruption of the production process working out detailed planning for the various activities;
Preparing the execution of technical works for construction detailing technical activities, including establishing the nature, scope and sequence of tasks, the necessary staffing levels and the necessary materials detailing the technical specifications of the resources needed agreeing substantive and operational matters with contractors’ representatives, stating the desired outcome, lead time, any unusual aspects, etc.
reserving the necessary materials and resources and releasing them to the right location Supervising the execution of technical works for construction assigning (day-to-day) tasks to employees and (within contractual agreements) to the relevant contractor foremen (using Dutch or English technical terms as applicable) supervising external workers, providing substantive explanations and giving instructions relating to the activities to be carried out, safety, etc.
monitoring the timeliness of repairs and follow-up activities monitoring/checking the progress and quality of the work and having any shortcomings rectified solving operational and organization bottlenecks to allow the progress of technical works, in consultation with involved parties, and in doing so advising and deciding on solutions
